The VR-DESKTOP sytem in the Immersive Environments Applications Laboratory is configured to allow anyone with a PSU Access Account to log in as a generic VIZLAB user. VIZLAB users can log into the system, run any available applications, and have write access to C:/temp as well as any CAC networked personal diskspace resources that are associated with your access account. Networked personal disk space that can be avaialable to you as a VIZLAB user includes Penn State Access Account Storage Space PASS using Distributed File System (DFS), or the CAC Distributed Systems Group ConMan system (aka. the U-Drive).

To log in to the VR-DESKTOP system as a VIZLAB user:
  1. A menu should appear saying Penn State CAC/SALA (Immersive Environments Lab) Click OK or Enter when prompted. Type in your PSU access id and password.

  2. If you have already signed up for the U drive, then this should be available for you to use (This will appears as users on "UDRIVE.win.psu.edu" (U:).

  3. There are four ways you can save your files in this lab. You can either use the U:Drive, DFS Space, Architecture Student Server (found on the desktop), or in C:\TEMP.
