LION-XO PC Cluster

LION-XO is a PC Cluster run by the High Performance Computing Group of Penn State's Academic Services and Emerging Technologies (ASET) in partnership with the following Penn State professors:

LION-XO Software

LION-XO runs the GNU/Linux operating system. A list of installed software packages can be found on the software page. Other packages can be installed upon request.

Obtaining an Account

To obtain an account on LION-XO you first need to be sure that you have a Penn State Access Account. If you do not, you will need to work with the ITS Accounts Services group to get one.

If you have a Penn State Access Account already, send an email to Jason Holmes at jholmes@psu.edu requesting your LION-XO account. Please be sure to include your Penn State Access Account userid and any special requests you may have.

Please refer to the LION-XO User's Guide for more information on accessing LION-XO and compiling and running applications on it.

LION-XO Performance

Benchmarking is an on-going process. Results so far are very encouraging.
