LION-XD Development Cluster
LION-XD is a batch submission cluster intended to be
used for parallel code development. Jobs are run through a
queueing/scheduling system, but the job runtime and size limits are
restricted so that code debugging and development are facilitated.
Hardware
LION-XD consists of the following hardware:
One login node
- Angstrom SuperBlade Server
- Dual 2.0 GHz AMD Opteron Processors
- 4 GB of ECC RAM
Eight compute nodes
- Angstrom SuperBlade server
- Dual 2.0 Ghz AMD Opteron Processors
- 4 GB of ECC RAM
Topspin Infiniband High Speed Network
Software

A list of installed software packages can be found on the
software page.
Other packages can be installed upon request.

Obtaining an Account
To obtain an account on LION-XD you first need to be sure
that you have a Penn State Access Account. If you do not, you will need
to work with the ITS Accounts
Services group to get one.
If you have a Penn State Access Account already, send an email to Jason
Holmes at jholmes@psu.edu requesting your LION-XD account.
Please be sure to include your Penn State Access Account userid and any
special requests you may have.

running applications on it.

Performance

Benchmarking is an on-going process. Results so far are very encouraging.
