LION-XB PC Cluster
LION-XB is a PC Cluster run by the High Performance Computing Group of Penn State's Academic Services and Emerging Technologies (ASET) in partnership with the following Penn State faculty members:
- Dr. Douglas Cowen, Associate Professor of Physics, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics
- Dr. Tyce DeYoung, Assistant Professor of Physics
- Dr. Bryan Grenfell, Alumni Professor of Biology
- Dr. Dan Haworth, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
- Dr. Janna Maranas, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering
- Dr. Michael Modest, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
This system is not yet available to users not belonging to one of the funding groups.
Hardware
LION-XB consists of the following hardware:
1 Login Node
- Sun SunFire v20z 1U Rackmount Server
- Dual 2.6 GHz AMD Opteron Processors
- 8 GB of ECC RAM
16 Compute Nodes
- Western Scientific 1U Rackmount Server
- Quad 2.4 Ghz AMD Opteron Dual-Core Processors
- 32 GB of ECC RAM
