Systems Available at the HPC Group
The High Performance Computing Group (HPC Group) has a
variety of systems available to address a wide range of computational needs.
The linux clusters Lion-XL, Lion-XM, and Lion-XO provide the core computational
capabilities with over 1000 processors aggregate between them. The linux
cluster Lion-XD is available to partner groups as a quick-turnaround system
for code development and debugging. The Unisys system is the answer for codes
that need a shared-memory parallel platform and both it and Lion-XO include
machines to address the needs of users who require large amounts of memory.
Finally, Hammer is a small interactive cluster that allows running jobs
outside of a queueing system, making it possible to use programs such as
Ansys, Abaqus, and Matlab through their GUI interface.
Information on obtaining accounts on these systems and using these systems can be found through the links to the individual systems on the left.
